* Ksenija Bilbija is an Associate Professor in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she teaches courses related to Spanish-American literature and culture. In her books and articles, Bilbija discusses post-colonial literature, gender issues, legacies of authoritarianism, popular culture, andnew media such as hypertexts and cinema. Her book, entitled Textual Bodies: Metaphors of Narrative Genesis in Latin American Literature (Caracas: Monte Avila, 2000) provides specific literary, historical and cultural contexts within which the metaphors of narrative genesis are articulated by Horacio Quiroga, Jorge Luis Borges, Felisberto Hernández, José Donoso, and Rosario Ferré in their selected texts. Bilbija has also translated several books and more than a dozen short stories from Spanish, English, and Portuguese to her native Serbo-Croation language.
